Chiro Intro
What is a Chiropractor?
A chiropractors' aim is to optimise ones wellbeing through examination, treatment and management of their joints, muscles, ligaments and nerves. Whether it's an injury, gradual build-up of discomfort or a wish to become more healthy, a chiropractor will provide you with the best recommendations to reach your goals and more.
What happens on my first visit?
Your first appointment will be up to one hour in length. This will include taking your history (questions about your goals, lifestyle and general health) and completing a thorough functional examination. A first treatment will also commence in this session if appropriate. The session will be rounded up with your chiropractor recommending a course of care to get the results you're looking for.
What happens in a treatment?
Chiropractic treatment involves the hands-on manipulation of joints of the spine to reduce pain and improve mobility. Stiff joints become barriers to your recovery so your Chiropractor will take down these barriers to allow your body to heal.
What can it help with?
Chiropractors are specialised in the spine and its nerves. This means they can treat problems relating to -
- Neck
- Headaches/Migraines
- Upper back/Shoulders
- Lower back/Hips
- Arm pain
- Leg pain
- Nerve related sensations (numbness, tingling, burning etc.)
Booking an Initial Consult
You can book your hour-long initial consultation online or by telephone. In both cases you will be asked for your full name, date of birth and email address. You will then be sent an 'Intake Form' to fill out via email, or prompted during the online booking procedure, which should take no longer than 10 minutes. After the boxes have been filled and the form signed, your chiropractor will have a thorough look through it to ensure they are as prepared as possible for your arrival.
What should I wear?
Your chiropractor needs to touch your joints and address your ranges of motion so we would recommend you come in comfortable, loose clothing to allow the examination to be as precise as possible.
